Birdie Baby, take 2
Can I just say how much I love the little birdie christening from yesterday. This little birdie theme would be perfect for a baby shower. Oh yeah, and Martha Stewart has even more ways to incorporate the bird/nest theme. Check out these yummy ideas.
Update: Also check out Hostess with the Mostess & Parents.com for more little birdie ideas, I loved this selection of birdie songs:
-
“Free Bird” – Lynyrd Skynyrd
-
“Fly Like and Eagle” – Steve Miller Band
-
“Bye Bye Birdie” – Ann Margret
-
“Fly” – Surgar Ray
-
“Three Little Birds” – Bob Marley
-
“Come Fly with me” – Frank Sinatra

Real Parties: Kiddie Kart Races
Here’s another amazing birthday party captured by Jessica Claire. This is another one that has been floating around the web, but I can’t get enough of it. The little go-carts are just awesome, as are all the other little details. For suggestions on how to recreate this party for your little one, visit At Home with Kim Vallee.

Moroccan Dinner Recap
Our Moroccan dinner party couldn’t have happened on a more beautiful summer night. This was the kick-off of the “young couples” ministry for our church, so we had a nice little group of people to hang out with. Set up was a little hectic, since it was a weeknight- but we planned accordingly with a simple and easy, prepare-ahead menu. Here are few of my favorite details.
Details: Moroccan tea glasses and gold candlesticks from World Market, those gorgeous red bottles are from Pier 1 (only 5 bucks each), and the beverage jar is from Target.

What I Want: Cloches
I’m not really sure what a cloche actually is, but according to Merriam Webster a cloche (klōsh) is 1 : a transparent plant cover used outdoors especially for protection against cold or 2 : a woman’s close-fitting hat usually with deep rounded crown and narrow brim. Well…whatever they are, I want em’.
Aren’t these Glass Cloches from Sur la Table beautiful.

They would work perfectly to recreate this Martha Stewart candy buffet, yummy.

Moroccan Inspiration
A warm summer’s night is the perfect setting for our Moroccan themed party this weekend. The weather should be perfect for lounging around with friends and a good meal. This was our inspiration for the soiree.

Real Parties: Moroccan Bride and Groom Magazine Event
I’m helping my sister throw a smallish moroccan themed get-together this weekend, but it’s nothing on the scale of this lovely event by Outstanding Occasions.

Ty Pennington’s Party
I found a few pictures of this summer brunch on PointClickHome. Ty P. (yeah, that guy from Extreme Home Makeover), threw a nice little shindig. A man of many talents, who knew? Check out the full details here.
The Menu:
& Breakfast Pizzas on pita.

Party DIY: Whimsical Garland
I love party garlands, and not the cheesy ones from party city. I’ve been collecting images in my “favorites” on Flickr. See these: Rock n’ Roll, Pretty in Pink, Happy Birthday. But now, I can make my own. Check out the tutorial on how to create this whimsical garland from The Purl Bee.
